The name of this blog, Seeing Through Illusions, can be understood in two different ways.
The word "through" can mean "to the other side" -- so that "seeing through illusions" refers to unmasking or seeing beyond an illusion.
The word "through" can also mean "by way of" so that "seeing through illusions" can mean that we can see by way of an illusion.
I believe that we can see reality more clearly by understanding the nature of illusions.
We can use the knowledge and/or the experience of illusions in order to better see, or grasp reality.
My passion for optical illusions and magic tricks intersects with my life’s commitment to Jewish learning in many ways. As a teacher, I often use magic tricks and illusions as a part of my exploration of Judaism and the big questions of life.
Welcome to Seeing Through Illusions.
